About The Webinar

This webinar is dedicated to Construction and Property companies in Scotland.

Construction & Property Connections powered by Edinburgh Connections attracts anyone interested in this sector – architects and engineers, those working in the property market, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers and importers of building materials, property investors and more.

We aim to help YOU meet new connections from your industry, build new relationships, possibly new customers, peer support, potential suppliers, collaborations, partnerships and we will have a bit of fun too.

Event Agenda

Independent research shows that the construction sector has been one of the hardest hit by a coronavirus, with an average loss of 40% of income since the first restrictions. There is no guarantee that we will ever get back to ‘normal’, so those construction companies that adapt and innovate will be the ones to survive the pandemic.

Will that favour bigger companies with access to more resources or smaller businesses, more nimble and adaptable to change?

Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) has been around as a concept since the 2005 National Audit Office report “about how modern methods of construction can be used to build good quality homes more quickly and efficiently.” This crisis has been the concept’s opportunity to flourish. Automation can mean fewer people on site, improving physical distancing while reducing costs and helping to alleviate skills shortage brought on by Brexit.

What are the strategies we need to adopt to adapt for the present and plan for the future in construction?

  • Great event, lovely friendly people, superb venue, and well organised. Well worth coming even if I don’t meet customers I can directly work with. People know people who might need me.

  • Really enjoyable, round table discussions work well and very interesting to hear different ideas from other groups on the same topic. It was a very good host for this and kept things on schedule and in control easily.
